SeaStack - A New Form of Wave Energy

SeaStack is a series of modular bio-concrete forms that omnidirectionally channel wave energy (wave surges, tidal flow, and currents) into a central propeller to generate energy. The forms are designed to increase biodiversity and capture carbon by weathering the high-silicate concrete.

I am working with a team at UC Berkeley to develop a scalable solution for bioproduction scale-out. By making scale-out economic, we hope to lower bioproduction companies' barriers to entry and allow bio-based solutions to proliferate.

Jess just wanted to sleep. After a long night of studying, she felt that it was deserved. What she did not need, however, was to be abducted by aliens. And unbeknownst to her, the only man who could stop the whole ordeal was a few yards away, laying face down in the dirt, wondering which pantheon had it out for him.

One Night: A short story

WARNING: this story deals with death, self-harm, and depression. If you are sensitive to these subjects I would recommend reading some of my other work. I wrote this story after reading a news article about a drunk driver who crashed through a house in the middle of the night. Luckily no one was hurt, but the idea of immediate and unrelenting tragedy stuck with me. I wrote this story to express those emotions and the rollercoaster of grief we all experience.
